Recreational Program

Our recreational program is designed for dancers 18mo–18yrs looking to further their knowledge in all genres of dance and ready to take it to the next level. We offer 1 hour classes in ballet, jazz, hip hop, modern, tap, technique, core tech & acro. We also offer performance classes that prepare the children to dance at events throughout the year. AAD Starlets

For young dancers, ages 6-9, who want to take their dancing to the next level. This program develops technique in ballet, jazz and hip hop in an age-appropriate, confidence-building, positive environment. The Starlets perform several numbers at AAD’s annual recital. We offer additional optional classes in tap, modern and acrobatics plus a Performance Team for those dancers wanting even more. Four teams progress from beginner to advanced intermediate while having FUN every step of the way! Blue level

1st–3rd grade

Recommended prior experience: 1 yr ballet or jazz

Entry level - Dancers will gain technique while learning the discipline and fun of dance.

pink level

2nd–3rd grade

Recommended prior experience: 1-2 yrs ballet or jazz

The next building block or entry level for older dancers- Dancers will continue to build upon their technique.

Purple level

3rd–4th grade

Recommended prior experience: 2-3 yrs ballet + 1-3 yrs jazz

Second or third year- Dancers are expanding their technical foundation while preparing for more time commitment.

Senior level

3rd–5th grade

Recommended prior experience: 2-4 yrs ballet + 2-4 yrs jazz

Final level - most Senior Starlets are preparing for the Company Program and will have gained more advanced knowledge.

AAD Company

For dancers who are especially committed to and passionate about dance. The Company program is for dancers, grades 4-12, to experience the benefits of participating on a team: leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, friendship, passion and most of all - FUN! Dancers will train with an unparalleled team of instructors, perform and compete regionally, enjoy Master Classes taught by LA/NYC’s most sought after choreographers, and become part of an everlasting dance family! Performance Team

Least Commitment
Weekly Commitment : 3½ -4 hours

Recommended prior experience:
MULTI: 2 yrs Ballet + 1 yr Modern, Jazz or Hip Hop
HIP HOP: 2 yrs Hip Hop

Focus on a few select genres. Dancers will gain technique and performance experience in a fun, stress-free environment.

Competition Team 1

More Commitment
Weekly Commitment : 6 hours

Recommended prior experience:
3 yrs Ballet + 1 yr Hip Hop + 1 yr Jazz or Modern

Focus on 4 or more genres.  Dancers will gain technique and experience competitive dancing at the novice or intermediate level.

Competition Team 2

Most Commitment
Weekly Commitment : 12+ hours

Recommended prior experience:
4 yrs Ballet + 3 yrs Hip Hop + 3 yrs Jazz + 1 yr Modern + 1 yr Tap

Pre-Professional Track- Focus on 5 or more genres. Dancers will refine their technique while performing at competitions and conventions at the most advanced level.
