Company Program Assistant
Rachael began her dance education at Karyn Kelly Dance Center in Buffalo, New York. She graduated magna cum laude from Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance, concentrating in Jazz. Immediately following graduation Rachael joined America’s leading Jazz Dance Company, Giordano Dance Chicago. She spent 6 incredible seasons under the direction of Nan Giordano, where she traveled and performed throughout the world. A few of her international tours included London, Rome, Latvia, Guatemala and Israel. During Rachael’s time with GDC she was thrilled to have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge while performing a wide spectrum from the industry’s leading choreographers including Peter Chu, Mia Michaels, Roni Koresh, Ray Leeper, Ron De Jesus, Randy Duncan, Ray Mercer, John Lehrer, Autumn Eckman, Gus Giordano and many more.
For the past five years, Rachael has had the privilege of working with Chicago Public Schools teaching the Jazz Dance/Science and Health outreach programs to fourth, fifth and seventh graders. She is currently on faculty at AAD as their company and competition teacher, and has been since 2012. Over the past two summers Rachael has expanded her teaching aptitude while traveling to Haiti as a volunteer at Fondation Enfant Jesus (FEJ) where she taught dance classes to over 160 underprivileged children.
In addition to performing, Rachael exhibits a growing passion for the art of choreography. She has been fortunate to have a variety of choreography opportunities with organizations such as Point Park University, Giordano II, Owensboro Dance Theatre and several high schools all throughout Illinois along with other Chicago based projects and studios. Rachael is incredibly thankful to have her family, friends and students for supporting her passion of dance each and every day!
