MISSION STATEMENT:

Our mission is to expand the accessibility of a dance education to students within our AAD family and to underserved children within our broader Chicago community. We also are committed to building respect for the art form and striving to provide fair pay and performance opportunities to individuals who have chosen to pursue a professional career in dance.

SEASON ONE ACCOMPLISHMENTS

OUR 2022-2023 GOALS

1. Established processes and procedures for awarding need-based financial assistance to our dancers.

2. Re-established our partnership with Art on Sedgwick to provide an after-school dance class at their facility within Marshall Field Gardens.

3. Expanded our reach to underserved children in our community by also providing a summer dance class at Marshall Field Gardens, which culminated in a final performance at their summer festival.

4. Expanded our Student Choreography Experience to be our signature fundraiser. Because of our sponsorship program, the event raised significantly more funds than the prior year, allowing us to fully fund our financial assistance needs for the current year.

1. Expand our reach to underserved children in our community: The estimated cost for this expansion is $4,000.

2. Expand our ability to support new dancers in their journey: Our current year goal to start building reserves for this expansion is $50,000.

3. Continue our support of the professional dance community: Our current year goal to expand this program is $5,000.

4. Fill our nine-seat board and establish defined roles and responsibilities to ensure the continued growth and success of the foundation: If interested in joining the board please email rachael@allaboutdance.org

OUR STORY!

During the pandemic, All About Dance needed to quickly pivot to ensure its dancers were able to continue pursuing their passion for dance and its teachers were able to continue earning a living wage. During this process, the leadership team had an “aha” moment. We realized that, in order to fulfill AAD’s parallel dreams of giving every kid a chance to dance & supporting those who choose to pursue a career in dance, we needed to create an organization that could raise the funds necessary to turn these dreams into a reality.

Our desire to provide opportunities in dance during the full cycle of a dancer’s journey...

Increasing access to young children who would otherwise not be exposed to dance
Assisting budding artists who have the passion to become skilled dancers with their families’ inability to afford our company programs
Strengthening AAD’s influence as an advocate and support system for those pursuing dance as their professional field

...will only be fully realized through the financial support of our generous friends. Thus, Beyond The Dance Floor was born. We look forward to growing this organization to be a leader within the Chicago dance community

Financial Assistance

Beyond the Dance Floor is committed to providing financial assistance to our dancers who cannot afford the cost of a dance education.

Donations will be utilized to provide financial assistance grants to dancers in our Starlet, Company, and Youth Programs, including our students from Marshall Field Gardens.

$2500 - Sponsor 3 dancers from Marshall Field Gardens.
$835 - Sponsor 1 dancer for 1 semester, including class, costume and recital tickets.
$1435 - Sponsor 1 dancer for 2 semesters, including class, costume, and recital tickets.
